Because of the Coronacrisis it is unclear whether or not the elections for our student representatives at Utrecht University can continue. In one scenario the elections are cancelled entirely. UUinActie pleads for organizing the election online, for the sake of democracy.

It is undesirable to cancel the elections for the student representatives at Utrecht University because: - It is unclear how long the Coronacrisis will continue; - The current representatives risk losing their rights; - Candidates for the councils are deserving of clarity; - The central electoral committee and not the executive board should decide the fate of elections. - It will constitute a subversion of the academic democracy.

De verkiezingen voor studentleden voor de universiteitsraad en de faculteitsraden eind april worden uitgesteld. Volgens het Centraal Stembureau is het vanwege de coronacrisis op dit moment niet mogelijk om kandidaten te zoeken of om campagne te voeren.
De studentenpartijen in de U-raad ruziën nu over een mogelijke oplossing.
De coronacrisis zou er zomaar voor kunnen zorgen dat er dit jaar helemaal geen verkiezingen voor de universiteitsraad of faculteitsraad komen. Ondenkbaar, vinden leden van raadspartij UUinActie.
